Why You Should Practice Self Grace
I haven’t always given myself grace…
For years I lived in perfectionism and thought self grace was for everyone else but me. That my friend is simply not true. I was harder on myself than is even reasonable. That behavior was modeled to me by my parents combined with a healthy dose of unreasonable expectations. This is a setup for failure, self worth issues and a lack of confidence.
Self grace is a healthy practice that’s necessary for you to grow and reach your goals.
You deserve self grace. ⠀
Nothing will destroy your confidence faster than a lack of self grace. If you’re hard on yourself and live in perfectionism, I invite you to think of what you would feel like if you let go and give yourself the space to experience self grace. Perfectionism is nothing more than self punishment because perfect is never perfect enough and it robs your soul of peace.
Ask yourself the following questions:
- Am I living in perfectionism?
- What am I gaining by holding onto perfectionism?
- Has perfectionism served me in any area of my life?
- Have I grown and reached my goals or closer to my goals in the last year?
