One of the most overlooked areas of personal development is clearly defining what you stand for, meaning your core values. Your core values are your guiding principles, your North Star, every decision you make should be filtered through your values. This is the foundation of how you stay true to yourself.
Learning to filter decisions through your core values is the difference between you responding versus reacting. What's really common is that when people don't know what they stand for, they don't have their core values clearly aligned. And they make decisions that don't line up with what they really want. They make decisions because they're pressured, or they're afraid, or it sounded like a good idea.
But they didn't trust their gut. What happens when they make that decision, and they're not happy with the outcome? It starts to hurt their confidence in their decision making. They start not trusting themselves.
